The book is the creation of fellow architect, photographer and publisher Glenn Hettinger of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. Glenn has spent many summers walking the shore path of Geneva Lake, enjoying the ever-changing architecture that graces the lakeshore.
With his keen sense of design and architectural eye, Mr. Hettinger has selected 56 homes to feature in the book that he considers truly distinctive “in a good way”. They are homes not necessarily well known, not necessarily large, new, or old. The common quality in Glenn’s selection is lakeshore homes that are particularly well designed, well built, and offer a distinctive style or feature that makes them memorable. The book contains 228 pages and over 700 full-color pictures.
McCormack + Etten / Architects™ is proud to be able to say that we have designed 17 of the 56 distinctive homes featured in the book. Towards the back of the book, Mr. Hettinger compiled another 39 Homes of Distinction around the lake, of which McCormack + Etten Architects either designed or did additions to another 8 homes in that category. M+E is also featured in a two-page spread entitled “Distinctive Architecture”, offering our insights about what’s important in designing a unique lake home.
